ELIGIBILITY

All 2017 graduates are eligible to walk in the ceremony if they have:

1) Applied for graduation with the Office of Enrollment Management
2) Have or are currently in the process of completing their program requirements by their intended graduation date.

October 2016 PhD and DCN graduates are also invited to participate at the 2017 Convocation ceremony.

CEREMONY

The ceremony is about recognizing the academic achievements of all our graduates for the 2017 year. We will begin the ceremony with several speeches that are followed by the distribution of awards for individuals at SHP for their outstanding accomplishments or service to our community. Graduates will also have the opportunity to march across stage to be recognized by all in attendance and shake their hands with the Dean of the School of Health Professions.

TICKETS & NAME READER CARDS

Guest tickets for SHP Convocation have been distributed to the graduates’ home campus. An email has been sent to all graduates that RSVP’d by the deadline with instructions on how to retrieve their guest tickets and name reader card. Graduates are advised to NOT misplace their name reader card. If graduates lose their name reader card, they will not be guaranteed to have their name read or have any award distinctions announced when walking across stage. Distance graduates or those will not be able to pick up tickets & name reader card from their home campus will be able to pick up their tickets on the day of ceremony at NJPAC by the registration area.

A roll call will be done closer to the day of the ceremony if any extra tickets are available. Please check your email for further announcements.

SHP RECOGNITION AWARDS

Please click here for a list of awards with deadlines that are presented annually to students, faculty, staff and colleagues for their outstanding accomplishments or service to the school and community.  Please nominate individuals you deem deserving of an award by the deadlines listed.  Nominee(s) full name(s) should be as it appears in the Office of Enrollment Services and complete mailing address should be included in your correspondence for timely delivery.  If the nominee is not a student, please present their names and titles as it should appear on the award.

SCHEDULE

Please note that guest seating will begin at 9 a.m. and the ceremony will begin at 10 a.m sharp. We will not be able to accommodate guests who arrive earlier.

PHOTOGRAPHS

Family and friends can have professional photos taken at NJPAC before and after the ceremony. You will be able to view the photos online and purchase them from the vendor. More details will be forthcoming.

DIPLOMAS

Diplomas will not be distributed during the ceremony for graduates. Graduates must submit a diploma release form found at the following link to receive their diploma by mail: SHP Diploma Release Form. Graduates also have the option of coming to the Office of Enrollment Management at 65 Bergen Street, SSB 147, Newark NJ, with government-issued or school ID to retrieve their diploma. Check back this website later for more details on the availability of May 2017 diplomas.
