Statement of Purpose:

Statement of Purpose:

Like everyone who wishes to serve on this board, I hold in high regard the concept of giving back, and wish to serve the student body in making college life a more enriching experience for all involved. What may differentiate me from other applicants is a rich history of character-building life experience. I am a wife, a mother, a survivor, and a fighter. Regardless of extraordinary hardships I have faced, I choose to persevere. I am living proof that there is virtually nothing one cannot recover from.  Click here for complete statement I should be elected as President of the SGA because I genuinely want to make our students have a more holistic and fulfilling experience during the duration of their study at Rutgers SHP (and RBHS as a whole).  I want to listen to their frustrations and concerns, address them, and make them feel more at home. Rutgers RBHS is a fairly new campus, and does not have as many facilities, organizations, and opportunities available to its students as other Rutgers campuses. Click here for complete statement

Student Government Association

Rutgers School of Health Professions is creating its inaugural Student Government Association (SGA). The SGA offers students the opportunity to make the most of their college experience by representing the student body as an advocate and a leader.

We are now opening the process for nominations for the executive board, which includes the President, Vice President, Treasurer, and Secretary. Both undergraduate and graduate students can run for executive board positions. After the elections for officers are completed, students can apply to become “At-Large Representatives” of the SGA.

Students involved with the SGA will have the chance to learn important management, communication, and interpersonal skills. Board members will collaborate as a team, providing a forum for School of Health Professions students' interests and concerns.  The SGA is expected to work closely with Student Affairs to address student needs, and help plan important school-wide events.

The SGA provides a path to involve students in initiatives that will enhance interdisciplinary experiences among students, and further the school’s mission. Students will have the opportunity to plan community service activities, and participate in trainings to develop leadership and interpersonal communication skills.
