School of Health Professions Alumni Association (SHPAA)
The School of Health Professions Alumni Association (SHPAA) strives to engage all SHP Alumni for the advancement of our School and Rutgers University. SHPAA is lead by an Executive Board of Directors comprised of volunteer alumni leaders representing over twelve-thousand distinguished graduates. The Executive Board ensures the SHPAA shares the overall vision of SHP, Rutgers University, and the Rutgers University Alumni Association.

SHP Alumni Association President
Dr. Shane Mata, PT, DPT, graduated from Rutgers School of Health Professions from the Doctor of Physical Therapy program. He earned his Bachelors of Business Administration from The George Washington University, and has worked for several Fortune 100 companies in his prior career in Finance. Dr. Mata currently practices in Livingston NJ at a private outpatient physical therapy center. Shane previously served the SHP Alumni Association as Vice-President. He resides in Verona, NJ with his wife and 2 children.
SHP Alumni Association Vice-President
Dr. Christine Ramdin is currently a Research Associate at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School (NJMS) Department of Emergency Medicine. Her current research is focused around the field of medical toxicology. She graduated from Rutgers School of Health Professions in May 2018 with a Ph.D in Biomedical Informatics, where her dissertation focus involved looking at the impact of repeated medical student QA/QI projects on patient care delivered in over 40 different Family Practices in New Jersey. Dr. Ramdin also holds a MS degree in Biomedical Informatics as well as a BS degree in Applied Physics and Biomathematics from Rutgers University. As Vice President of the SHP Alumni Association, Dr. Ramdin hopes to expand upon the current program by introducing more services that can assist alumni, students that are about to graduate, as well as recent graduates. She also wishes to create a more united environment by creating events that will bridge the distance between alumni and current students.
SHP Alumni Association Historian
Dr. Robert Pastore holds a PhD in Biomedical Informatics – Nanomedicine and Clinical Informatics track, from Rutgers University, School of Health Professions, and received the Award of Excellence for his outstanding academic performance. Dr. Pastore also holds a Master of Science in Human Nutrition from Eastern Michigan University where he received the Outstanding Graduate Student Award for academic excellence, and a Bachelor of Science from Excelsior College, Albany NY. Dr. Pastore is a Certified Nutrition Specialist (CNS) from the Board for Certification of Nutrition Specialists. Dr. Pastore is a member of the Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi, Eastern Michigan Chapter, and Alpha Chi Chapter of Alpha Epsilon Lambda at Rutgers Biomedical and Health Sciences. Dr. Pastore is a consultant for professional sports and health science companies. He resides in New York with his wife and daughter.
SHP Alumni Webmaster/Communications
Dr. Hetu Gadhia has been a clinical leader throughout her roles in multi-national pharmaceuticals, CROs as well as in other in healthcare facilities. She is currently a Lead Clinical Scientist at Novartis Pharmaceutical and has held several roles as an operational Manager, Associate Director and Director of Data Management at multi-national pharmaceuticals including Eli Lilly.
Dr. Gadhia is an expert in Clinical trials operations and Data Sciences. Her career has been focused on developing and leading phase I-III clinical trials in several therapeutic areas. Dr. Gadhia holds a Ph.D in Biomedical Informatics and a MS in Biomedical Informatics from the SHP Department of Health Informatics at Rutgers University. Dr. Gadhia also holds a Bachelor of Science in Nutrition from Rutgers University and is a registered Nutritionist in the state of New Jersey. Her academic research is focused on understanding effect of clinical and environmental factors on prevalence of inflammatory diseases in diabetic populations.
SHP Alumni Association Board Member
Abdul Olusekun graduated from Rutgers University School of Health Professions in May 2015. He holds a MS in Biomedical Informatics with a concertation in Clinical Informatics and holds a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Penn State University. Abdul resides in the New York Metropolitan area serving as an analytic professional with several years of achievement with leveraging Biomedical/Clinical data in the research and healthcare environment.
SHP Alumni Association Board Member
Mawada Elnegomi is a registered diagnostic medical sonographer. She is registered in abdomen and OB/GYN specialty by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS). Elnegomi holds a BS in Medical Imaging Science from Rutgers University. She has graduated from Rutgers School of Health Professions in December of 2018. Elnegomi has attended Bergen Community College, and earned an Associates of Science in May of 2016. Elnegomi has led the Active Minds Chapter at Bergen community college (BCC), where it aims to achieve an open dialogue about mental health awareness and create stigma free communities. She has served as the director of service for the Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) at BCC. Elnegomi along with leaders of PTK have increased the engagement of students in community service. She plans to continue her education and explore international humanitarian service. Elnegomi lives in New Jersey.
