When you apply to SHP, we’ll carefully review your academic record and qualification, as well as your experiences and aspirations.  If you have a specific question or want more information, please contact our Admission counselors through email or by phone at 973-972-5454.

Ready to Apply?  

The AHCAS application system will be utilized for our admissions process. Applications open September 10th.  To access the AHCAS applicant portal, please click here: https://ahcas.liaisoncas.com/applicant-ux/#/login.

“Starting Your Application in CAS”.

Complete all required information in the four quadrants and upload your resume and personal statement:

  • Personal Information
  • Academic History – Enter all colleges and universities attended. Through this section, you will need to click “Order” to have your transcript sent directly to AHCAS.
  • Supporting Information – Provide Evaluations by entering your Reference Contact Information.
  • Program Materials – Upload your CV/Resume and Personal Statement.

Application Fee: After submitting your information and documents via the AHCAS portal, click “Submit Application” and pay the application fee. The fee is $72 for the first program and $44 for each subsequent program.

Professional Transcript Entry: Services are available, please see fees below:

  • 1-3 transcripts: $85
  • 4-6 transcripts: $110
  • 7 or more transcripts: $160

These fees apply only to coursework entry and are in addition to regular application fees. Applicants’ PTE payment cannot be transferred to another cycle (e.g., re-applicants, applicants applying in multiple cycles, etc.).

Official transcripts must be sent directly to AHCAS. Do not request transcripts to be sent to Rutgers University.

For electronic transcripts, send them directly to AHCAS via National Clearinghouse or Parchment.

For paper transcripts, have your Registrar mail them to:

For foreign transcripts, request that they be sent to World Education Services (WES) or Educational Credential Evaluators (ECE) for evaluation. Once the evaluation is complete, request that the course-by-course evaluation be sent to AHCAS.

Please note that once AHCAS receives your transcript, it may take up to five business days for processing before it is added to your application.

SHP’s AI Use in Applications Statement
The School of Health Professions values authenticity and original thought in all application materials. While we recognize the potential benefits of AI tools, applicants are expected to submit personal statements and essays that reflect their own experiences, perspectives, and writing. Any use of AI-generated content must be clearly disclosed and should not compromise the integrity of the application.
Applicants applying to the B.S. in OTA program will need to apply via AHCAS.

Transfer Credit & Evaluations

  • Credits are evaluated using NJ Transfer guidelines from accredited institutions.
  • Up to 60–64 general education credits may transfer, depending on the requirements of  your specific program of study.
  • Solo Bachelor’s Programs (Degree-Completion Pathways)
    Applicants to SHP’s solo bachelor’s programs must complete a minimum of 41 general education credits plus 19 prerequisite/elective credits equaling 60 college credits before beginning the professional phase of the program.   • Transfer evaluations are initiated after admission by the Office of Enrollment Management.

Application Terms & Details

The School-to-School Transfer process is available only to students enrolled in joint programs with Rutgers–Newark who wish to transfer into the Rutgers School of Health Professions (SHP).

Students interested in transferring into the School of Health Professions (SHP) must follow the School-to-School transfer process through Rutgers Undergraduate Admissions.

Key Information

  • Eligibility: Only Rutgers–Newark joint program students may apply through the School-to-School Transfer process.
  • Summer-Start Programs: If your SHP program begins in the summer, you must apply during the Spring Term window (Oct 1 – Jan 1).
  • Fall-Start Programs: Apply during the Fall Term window (Feb 1 – June 1).
  • BannerWeb Required: All students admitted through the School-to-School Transfer must also complete a BannerWeb application. SHP Admissions will provide instructions once your transfer application is received.
