About
Dr. White joined the PA Program faculty 2012. He received a B.S. in Biology with a minor in Anthropology from Muhlenberg College in 2002. In 2008, Dr. White became the first graduate of UMDNJ’s M.S. Physician Assistant and M.P.H. dual degree program.
After completing this program he practiced in general internal medicine and neurology, and continues to practice primary care at the HOPE clinic. Dr. White earned a PhD in Health Systems and Policy from the Rutgers School of Public Health and he currently lectures in health policy, the U.S. health system, the health care workforce, and health care reform. As Director, Clinical Site Development and Practice he is responsible for developing and maintaining clinical education and practice opportunities with affiliate health systems, hospitals, and practices.
Dr. White’s research interests include the primary care workforce, health services utilization, health system reform, and clinical education. He is a Past President of the New Jersey State Society of Physician Assistants (NJSSPA) and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Physician Assistants (AAPA). Dr. White was the 2015 recipient of the PAEA New Faculty Award for Professional Excellence, the 2016 recipient of the NJSSPA Outstanding PA of the Year Award, was a 2018-2019 AAPA-PAEA Research Fellow, and is the recipient of the 2024 AAPA Publishing Award.
