About

Dr. Gomes joined Rutgers Physician Assistant Program faculty in January of 2019. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Massachusetts-Amherst in 2008. She enrolled in the UMDNJ PA Program and received her Masters in 2012.
Her clinical background is in Emergency Medicine, Cardiology, and Hematology/Oncology. She currently volunteers at the HOPE Clinic in Plainfield, NJ. Professor Gomes is involved with the module curriculum, Skills for Patient Assessment, and Introduction to clinical clerkship to the Physician Assistant students.
Dr. Gomes completed her Doctor of Health Science with a concentration in Functional and Integrative Medicine at the University of Bridgeport. Her research interests include improving patient care outcomes, gut microbiome, preventative medicine, lifestyle medicine, Functional medicine, Integrative Medicine, and physician assistant clinical education and training. Dr. Gomes is also the Co-Director for the Rutgers PA PANCE/PANRE Board Review.
