The information below will assist with finding funding opportunities, understanding SHP proposal submission process, including budget preparation and the University Research Administration Proposal Submission System (RAPSS).
Please reach out to the Research Administrative contacts below if you are interested in pursuing a funding opportunity or need assistance with any of the items listed above.
The following are funding tools that will assist with locating funding opportunities from Federal, Non-Federal, and Internal Sponsors:
- Pivot is a database of funding opportunities for all disciplines and project types. It includes federal, non-federal, foundation, and private funding opportunities. Pivot also includes calls for papers (Papers Invited) and lists of funding awards already made for projects (Awards). After signing up for an individual account, you can claim and populate your own researcher profile to receive personalized recommendations and connect with other researchers.
- Grants.gov allows you to search program announcements from all 26 Federal grant-making agencies through an intuitive search engine. Searches can be saved and e-mail alerts can be set up to deliver notifications when programs within a specific area of interest are posted.
- Foundation Directory Online provides information on over 100,000 private funders, includes a searchable database of recent awards and allows users to sign up to receive email alerts.
- Office of Research provides additional resources to find funding (Internal Rutgers Programs as well as featured funding opportunities and limited submissions).
- GradFund is a Rutgers service specifically for graduate students and postdocs searching for fellowship and grants opportunities.
- NJ Department of Health Directory of Grant Programs: The directory is divided into separate grant programs, which provide specific services through grant awards. Many programs are funded jointly by State, federal, and other funds.
SHP Office of Research requires that faculty communicate their intent to submit a proposal in advance of the sponsor deadline.
Principal Investigators (PIs) are also required to complete an internal submission form for their new research, service, or training grant submissions. This includes pre-applications and limited submissions. This form is required to be completed and sent to the SHP Office of Research at least 8 business days before the deadline of the grant submission.
We will assist with reviewing sponsor guidelines, initiating the funding proposal in the University’s Research Administration and Proposal Submission System (RAPSS), providing tools and resources needed for proposal development, and assisting with budget development and review.
We will acquire the proper internal approvals prior to the Office of Research and Sponsored Programs (ORSP) 5 Day/2 Day deadline policy.
Please reach out if you need a copy of the form or have any questions regarding the proposal process.
