When you apply to SHP, we’ll carefully review your academic record and qualification, as well as your experiences and aspirations. If you have a specific question or want more information, please contact our Admission counselors through email or by phone at 973-972-5454.
Take a moment and review the the requirements for the undergraduate degree program you’re interested in.
PLEASE NOTE: The Rutgers School-to-school transfer application is only available for programs offered in the spring and fall. Summer term offerings, Cardiac Sonography and Medical Laboratory Science, please apply here.
Please complete the school-to-school transfer application. You will not be required to pay an application fee.

Summer Application Process
Please access the application here. When applying for the first time, you will be guided through a process that begins with setting up a new account and password. If you already have an application account, please return to the login screen for your application.
You will be asked to select the program term – for example, Fall 2021. The application must be fully completed and application fee paid in order to submit your online application. If the application is not fully completed, we cannot process it.

Create Your Rutgers Community ID
If this is your first time applying to Rutgers and you do not currently have a NetID, you will need to create a Community ID in order to begin your application. Once you have created your Community ID, you can use it to return to your application or view your admission status in the application portal. If you have a NetID skip this step.
Start Your Application
Use your Community ID or Net ID to log into the application portal. Once logged in select “Apply Now.”
Application Selection
Select “Undergraduate” for type of application and then select the semester you are applying for. Please use the following list to select the corresponding semester for your program of interest.

For the B.S. in Occupational Therapy Assistant, you must apply through the OTCAS service.
You will also be required to make a selection for “Applicant Type.” In order to apply for any of the programs offered at Rutgers SHP you must select “Transfer.”

Fill in the required information for the Personal Information, Background Information, and Family Information sections.
Enrollment Information
Please complete the required information for this section. Note: for “College Credits Completed through Post-Secondary Institution(s)” you must select either “60 to 119” or “120 or more.” This is the number of credits you plan to complete before attending Rutgers SHP.
Transfer Program Selection
In this section you must first select your “School- First Preference.” Please select RBHS-School of Health Professions. You will then be asked to select your “Primary Academic Interest.” Select the program you are applying for and degree path you are pursuing (Solo BS, 2nd BS, Joint, or Certificate.) If you would like to be considered for more than one program, you may select one additional program under “Additional Academic Interests.”
Continue Your Application
Fill in the required information for the Education History, Academic Information, Activities and Experiences and Supplemental Information.
Supplemental Information- Essay Requirements:
- Health Information Management requires submission of essay stating why applicant has selected HIM as a program and/or profession.
- Psychiatric Rehabilitation & Psychiatric Rehabilitation and Psychology require a written essay related to career goals.
