About

Dr. Fydryszewski is certified as a Medical Laboratory Scientist by the American Society for Clinical Pathology-Board of Certification. Her clinical work experience includes microbiology, blood bank and hematology and supervisor of the microbiology department at Monmouth Medical Center, NJ for 7 years and teaching in their Medical Technology Program.

She joined the faculty at the University of Medicine & Dentistry of NJ (now Rutgers- RBHS), Dept of Clinical Laboratory Sciences in 1991. In 1996 she became the founding director of the UMDNJ-SHRP Center for Advanced and Continuing Education, working with faculty, industry and professional organizations (Chubb Group of Insurance Co., Roche, CLMA) to develop continuing education, advanced education, and academic certificate programs for practicing healthcare professionals and the public.

In 2006, she returned to the Dept of CLS with a primary focus to collaborate with the CLS faculty to develop a new advanced practice doctoral degree, the Doctor of Clinical Laboratory Science. Rutgers offered the first advanced practice doctoral program, graduating the first Doctor of Clinical Laboratory (DCLS) in the nation in 2018.

She is an active member of the American Society for Clinical Laboratory Science having served in leadership positions at the state, regional and national level, including elected member of the Board of Directors, Chair- DCLS Oversight Committee and the Scope of Practice Documents Revision Task Force DCLS position paper. She has presented (invited speaker) at international conferences: International Federation for Biomedical Laboratory Science (FBLS) Germany, Asia Pacific Conference of BMLS Taiwan, Croatian BMLS Congress, BMLS Nordic Congress, and numerous national regional, state professional symposia.
