About

Michael Majsak, PT, EdD began his role as a faculty member in physical therapy education 35 years ago at Hahnemann University in Philadelphia, PA, followed by a year at Seton Hall University.

For 22 years he served as Associate Professor and Chair of the Doctor of Physical Therapy Degree Program in the School of Health Sciences and Practice and Institute of Public Health at New York Medical College in Valhalla, NY before assuming the role of program director of the Doctor of Physical Therapy Program at Rutgers. He received an MS degree in Physical Therapy from Duke University in 1981, and an Ed.D. in Motor Learning from Teachers College, Columbia University in 2000.

Dr. Majsak’s clinical expertise is in adult neurology. His research areas include the study of the motor behavior of individuals with chronic neurologic pathology, the application of motor learning principles to client/patient management, and models of physical therapy education. He currently serves as a mentor to physical therapy program directors and chairs through the Fellowship in Higher Education Leadership sponsored by the Academy of Education of the American Physical Therapy Association.
