About

Paul Chiou, DrPH, MPH, SCT(ASCP), serves as a faculty member in the Department of Clinical Laboratory and Medical Imaging Sciences (CLMIS). Within CLMIS, he instructs courses in MS Diagnostic Cytopathology and takes on a pivotal role in its clinical coordination. Before joining the academic field, Dr. Chiou accumulated extensive experience in the Pathology and Laboratory Medicine industry, where he held management roles for an extended period.
Paul’s research endeavors are centered around cytology and pathology laboratory management, as well as educational aspects within these domains. He received his Bachelor’s degree in Biology from the University of California, Irvine and a Master’s degree in Public Health from University of Massachusetts, Amherst. He earned a Doctor in Public Health (DrPH) degree from Loma Linda University. He is also a certified Specialist in Cytology (SCT) and a diagnostic cytologist CT(ASCP).
