Doctor of Clinical Laboratory Science Program Accreditation

The Doctoral program, Doctor of Clinical Laboratory Science at Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey is a Candidate for Accreditation by the National Accrediting Agency for Clinical Laboratory Sciences (NAACLS), 5600 N. River Rd, Suite 720 Rosemont IL 60018-5119; 773.714.8880.
Candidacy is a “pre-accreditation” status with NAACLS, awarded to developing or emerging programs for a maximum period of 4 years.

Clinical and Preventive Nutrition Program Accreditation

Rutgers School of Health Professions, Department of Clinical and Preventive Nutrition Sciences is an accredited demonstration program under the Graduate Degree (Future Education Model) Accreditation Standards. (see www.eatrightpro.org/FutureModel). These accreditation standards integrate didactic coursework with supervised experiential learning in a competency-based curriculum designed to prepare nutrition and dietetics practitioners for future practice. Program graduates will be eligible to take the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) credentialing exam to become a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist.
All U.S. states and territories with licensure and certification laws accept the RDN credential for state licensure and certification purposes. It is ACEND’s considered opinion that the program is designed to and does meet all state dietetics licensure and certification laws as some states may interpret their statutes differently. MPH in Nutrition & Dietetic Internship Certificate Program Accreditation

Rutgers School of Health Professions, Department of Clinical and Preventive Nutrition Sciences is an accredited Dietetic Internship Certificate program. It is accredited by Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND) through June 2024. The program has a site visit in November 2023 to continue accreditation after 2024.
The Rutgers School of Public Health is accredited to December 31, 2023, by the Council on Education for Public Health (CEPH), an independent agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education to accredit schools of public health. They have a site visit in late Fall 2023.
It is ACEND’s considered opinion that the program is designed to and does meet all state dietetics licensure and certification laws as some states may interpret their statutes differently. All States not listed above, to the best of our knowledge, do not require professional licensure to practice within our profession. NJ has licensure, but standards are still in progress.

Physician’s Assistant Program Accreditation

The Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA) has granted Accreditation-Continued status to the Rutgers University Physician Assistant Program sponsored by Rutgers University. Accreditation-Continued is an accreditation status granted when a currently accredited program is in compliance with the ARC-PA Standards.
Accreditation remains in effect until the program closes or withdraws from the accreditation process or until accreditation is withdrawn for failure to comply with the Standards. The approximate date for the next validation review of the program by the ARC-PA will be September 2026. The review date is contingent upon continued compliance with the Accreditation Standards and ARC-PA policy.

M.S. in Rehabilitation Counseling Program Accreditation

The program is accredited by the Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs (CACREP). Applicants who graduate from a CACREP-accredited program may apply for the National Counselor Examination (NCE).
The National Board of Certified Counselors (NBCC) waives the post- master’s experience and supervision requirements for graduates of CACREP-accredited programs per information on their web site at www.nbcc.org. Passing the NCE is part of the process to obtain the National Certified Counselor (NCC) credential available through NBCC.

Doctor of Physical Therapy Program Accreditation

Speech-Language Pathology Program Accreditation

The Master of Science (M.S.) education program in speech-language pathology (residential) at Rutgers University is a Candidate for Accreditation by the Council on Academic Accreditation in Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology (CAA) of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association. Candidacy is a “pre-accreditation” status with the CAA, awarded to developing or emerging programs for a maximum period of 5 years.

Occupational Therapy Doctorate Program Accreditation

The entry-level occupational therapy doctoral degree program is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education (ACOTE) of the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA), located at 6116 Executive Boulevard, Suite 200, North Bethesda, MD 20852-4929. ACOTE’s telephone number c/o AOTA is (301) 652-AOTA and its web address is www.acoteonline.org. Graduates of the program will be eligible to sit for the national certification examination for the occupational therapist administered by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT).
After successful completion of this exam, the individual will be an Occupational Therapist, Registered (OTR). In addition, all states require licensure in order to practice; however, state licenses are usually based on the results of the NBCOT Certification Examination. Note that a felony conviction may affect a graduate’s ability to sit for the NBCOT certification examination or attain state licensure.
In addition, Students must complete 24 weeks of Level II fieldwork as well as an individual 14-week capstone experience within 12 months following the completion of the didactic portion of the program. The doctoral capstone experience must be started after completion of all coursework and Level II fieldwork as well as completion of preparatory activities defined in 2018 ACOTE OTD Standard D.1.3.
