Happy Thanksgiving from the Dean
November 22, 2022
Dear SHP Community,
Thanksgiving is a time to reflect on what we are thankful for. This year has been one of successes and accomplishments, and I thank each one of our faculty, staff, and students for their contributions.
After the challenges of the pandemic, it is good to be back together as a team. We have continued to work collaboratively to change the health care landscape for the better, in our classrooms, our research labs and our clinics, where we provided care to our community’s most vulnerable people. Together, with RBHS, we opened a food pantry one year ago to ease hunger and have provided thousands of meals. I am proud of the work we have done.
Thanksgiving is a time for family, friends, and what I like to call real food and great desserts. While we all celebrate in our own unique way, we share similarities. Just as at SHP, where our programs each function in their own unique way, they too share similarities, yet we depend on each other to meet our mission.
Enjoy your holiday, your time off, and come back refreshed.
With gratitude,
Alma S. Merians, PT, Ph.D.
