Join us for Medication & Mind: Beyond the Prescription, a virtual presentation with Joanna Moncrieff, MBBS, MD, Professor of Critical and Social Psychiatry at University College London and consultant psychiatrist in London’s National Health Service.

Dr. Moncrieff will examine assumptions and misunderstandings about mental disorders and how psychiatric medications work. Drawing on her research, she will discuss disease-centered and drug-centered models of drug action, the potential benefits and drawbacks of antidepressants and antipsychotics, and implications for clinical practice.
The presentation will also explore alternative approaches to supporting people with mental health concerns, from schizophrenia and psychosis to everyday challenges involving emotions and behavior.
