B.S. in Cardiovascular Sonography
Our cardiac sonography program prepares cardiovascular sonographers to be an integral part of the medical management team. The addition of vascular sonography to the cardiac program adds the skills employers are seeking in the increasingly multi-disciplinary health care environment.
B.S. in Diagnostic Medical Sonography
Our Diagnostic Medical Sonography (DMS), or general sonography program, encompasses clinical and didactic instruction in abdominal, obstetrical, gynecological, neonatal, neurosonography, and other related ultrasound specialties.
B.S. in Health Information Management
Our online health information management program will prepare you for the business side of healthcare. You’ll learn informatics, quality assurance, compliance, medical coding, and management. Upon graduating, you will be eligible to sit for the national credentialing examination to become a Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA). Credentialed graduates hold positions in data management, finance, compliance, health record management, and other areas.
B.S. in Health Sciences
Our Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences Program is designed for those who have an interest in healthcare or are already a member of the healthcare team. It provides a strong foundation in health science courses which will allow the future graduate to advance professionally in healthcare management, gerontology and psychiatric rehabilitation.
B.S. in Medical Laboratory Sciences
Our Medical Laboratory Science program is a university-based bachelor’s degree program. Our graduates work in hospitals, physician offices, veterinary labs, national and regional testing laboratories, biotechnology, pharmaceutical, chemical and cosmetic industries, health agencies, research and teaching institutions and use their degree as a preparation for advanced degrees in medicine, dentistry or biomedical sciences.
B.S. in Occupational Therapy Assistant
Our B.S. in Occupational Therapy Assistant program is a 120 credit Bachelor of Science degree that prepares students as professionals who contribute to the health and well-being of all populations. Our graduates serve people of all ages who experience illness, disease, disability, disadvantages, trauma, and challenging life circumstances, helping them to adapt through participation in meaningful occupations.
B.S. in Psychiatric Rehabilitation
Our degree program prepares students to aid in the recovery of people living with mental illnesses. The B.S. in Psychiatric Rehabilitation degree is a degree completion program geared towards students with an Associate degree in human services, health professions, or the arts and sciences. Students obtain their general education courses from their Associate degree program and complete their Bachelor degree credits at Rutgers University School of Health Professions.
B.S. in Psychiatric Rehabilitation & Psychology
Through intensive coursework and field experience, our Psychiatric Rehabilitation & Psychology students learn the skills to help people with psychiatric disabilities live independently. Graduates are prepared to practice psychiatric rehabilitation in both group and individualized settings, helping people gain access to resources needed to successfully integrate into the community.
M.S. in Clinical Laboratory Science
Our 36-credit online M.S. in Clinical Laboratory Science program is only for certified (BOC-ASCP) medical laboratory professionals seeking to advance their knowledge and skills, and develop new proficiencies to meet the challenges of a changing profession and health care system. The clinical laboratory science program prepares students for managerial and leadership roles in clinical laboratory services and the health care industry.
M.S. in Clinical Nutrition (for Aspiring Dietitians)
The Master of Science in Clinical Nutrition for Aspiring Dietitians program integrates online didactic coursework with supervised experiential learning in a competency-based curriculum designed to prepare nutrition and dietetics practitioners for future models of practice. Students will learn critical thinking and scientific skills needed for clinical dietetics practice, management, research, and leadership. M.S. in Clinical Research Management
Clinical Research Professionals are essential to the study of new drugs and devices leading to improved medical outcomes for patients. The Master of Science in Clinical Research Management is a 36-credit multi-disciplinary curriculum offered in a hybrid model by the Rutgers School of Health Professions. M.S. in Diagnostic Cytopathology
Our Diagnostic Cytopathology program teaches students to microscopically examine cells for malignancies, precancerous cells, and infectious diseases. Graduates in Diagnostic Cytopathology work closely with pathologists, other laboratory professionals, and clinicians in hospital and reference laboratories, cancer centers, biopharma corporations, and research and academic institutions to provide precision treatment and personalized patient care.
M.S. in Health Informatics
The Masters in Health Informatics degree program is specifically designed to provide an in-depth knowledge of the appropriate systems, software and analytical techniques for use in Hospitals, Pharmaceutical Organizations, Health Insurance Companies and such.
M.S. in Health Information Management
Our Master of Science in Health Information Management is designed for professionals with educational backgrounds in health information management, nursing, biostatics, genomics or overall health sciences, as well as any other equivalent fields of study. Our program will prepare you to be at the forefront of health information management and healthcare administration.
M.S. in Physician Assistant
Physician Assistants are nationally certified medical professionals who practice on health care teams. PAs are state-licensed to provide patient care and can prescribe medications in all 50 states. At Rutgers, our program builds a strong educational foundation in sciences, including anatomy, physiology, microbiology, genetics, and pathology, in preparation for immersion into hands-on clinical experiences.
M.S. in Radiologist Assistant
We offer an online, 24-month master’s degree Radiologist Assistant program for radiologic technologist professionals who hold a bachelor’s degree and are certified by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology.
M.S. in Rehabilitation Counseling – Clinical Mental Health Counseling Track
As a student in our program, you’ll gain the specialized knowledge, skills, and ability to counsel people with psychiatric, developmental, sensory, or physical disabilities. Our program’s cognitive behavioral counseling approach focuses on helping clients develop strategies and skills to change problematic behaviors, cope better with difficult situations, manage their disability, and plan for the future.
M.S. in Speech-Language Pathology
The M.S. in Speech-Language Pathology (MSSLP), which is completed over five consecutive semesters (two years), emphasizes service delivery for multiethnic, socially diverse populations – including dialectal speakers of English and bilingual/multilingual individuals – with speech, language, communication, and swallowing disorders within an interdisciplinary healthcare context.

Doctor of Clinical Laboratory Science (DCLS) program prepares certified medical laboratory scientists to be advanced practice healthcare practitioners dedicated to increasing the value of diagnostics through consultation as members of interprofessional healthcare teams and conduct research focused on evidence of the impact of diagnostics on clinical and healthcare outcomes.
Doctor of Clinical Nutrition

Doctor of Health Informatics
The Doctor of Health Informatics (DHI) degree program is specifically designed to provide the required knowledge, skills and competencies for the adoption of best practices in informatics applications towards health and pharmaceutical applications.
Doctor of Occupational Therapy (OTD)
The Occupational Therapy Doctoral degree (OTD) is a 109-credit, entry-level program that will prepare students as generalists to provide high quality occupational therapy services to serve their patients, to be responsive to changes in health care, to expand care to underserved communities, and to engage in scholarship/research in occupational science and occupational therapy.
Doctor of Physical Therapy
Our professional (entry-level) Doctor of Physical Therapy program is the top ranked program in New Jersey and 33rd out of the 245 accredited programs in the U.S. Our newly re-designed program is a full-time, on campus program that prepares students for physical therapy licensure in just two-and-a-half years. We are centrally located on the Rutgers Health-Newark Campus.
