National Heart and Lung Institute site allows you to use standard height and weight to calculate BMI.

The Center for Nutrition Policy and Promotion, an organization of the U.S. Department of Agriculture, aims improve the nutrition and well-being of Americans.  The Choose My Plate is available for adults, children, and pregnant women to help encourage healthy food choices.

Agricultural Marketing Service (AMS) works to maintain a current listing of farmers markets throughout the United States. Market information is provided to AMS from various sources including state market representatives, market managers, and consumers. The farmers market database is updated on a regular basis.

The Food and Nutrition Board was established to study issues of national importance pertaining to the safety and adequacy of the nation's food supply, to establish principles and guidelines for adequate nutrition, and to render authoritative judgment on the relationships among food intake, nutrition, and health, at the request of various agencies.

It was established to facilitate communication and dissemination of knowledge among scientists and to advance the understanding of cancer etiology, prevention, diagnosis, and treatment throughout the world.
