The Cardiac Sonography Program is located on the Scotch Plains campus. It is a fifteen month program starting in September and covers both clinical and didactic instruction in cardiac ultrasound and non-invasive cardiovascular diagnostic testing. The course of study includes Applied Anatomy and Physiology, Pathophysiology, Ultrasound Physics, Instrumentation and Applied Cardiac Sonography. Clinical training is provided in active Cardiology departments equipped with the most advanced ultrasound equipment. The Cardiac Sonography Program offers 3 educational options based on an applicant's prior educational history. The professional curriculum is exactly the same for all options.
Minimum program expectations: To prepare entry-level competent entry-level adult cardiac sonographers in the cognitive (knowledge), psychomotor (skills), and affective (behavior) learning domains.
